Every transportation jurisdiction in the Portland metro area (cities and counties) has a Transportation System Plan (TSP) that prioritizes transportation system improvement projects over a 20-year time horizon. These plans must be updated every 5 years. A citizen advisory committee is convened to organize citizen input and recommendations for the plan update.
Urban Green spirit and ideas were represented in Clackamas County’s Transportation System Plan Citizen Advisory Committee in 2013 and 2014. The Advisory Committee had a broad spectrum of citizen representation, geographically and politically, including members of Urban Green. The Advisory Committee provided an enormous amount of thoughtful and relevant input to the County for its TSP update.
Significant outcomes for our community included a recommendation for the permanent removal of the Sunnybrook Extension project from the Plan, and the inclusion of a new plan for a pedestrian/bicycle bridge crossing of the Willamette River in the Lake Oswego / Oak Grove area as a high priority project.
